yourexperience.ie is the home of the National Care Experience Programme, a joint initiative from the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA), the Health Service Executive (HSE) and the Department of Health. We ask people about their experiences of care in order to improve the quality of health and social care services in Ireland.
We publish our findings on this website and share them with service providers, policy makers, and the public.
We help service providers to make sense of survey findings and identify priorities within their services. We collect evidence on hospital initiatives and showcase these on this website.
Care experience surveys are a useful way of identifying areas that need improvement in the delivery of health and social care and provide service providers with detailed information on how to fix these problems. By listening and learning from the experiences of patients we can bring about effective and sustainable changes across the Irish health and social care systems.
The National Care Experience Programme was established in 2019 to improve the quality of health and social care services in Ireland by asking people about their experiences of care and acting on their feedback. It is a partnership between HIQA, the HSE and the Department of Health, with patient representatives providing their input at each stage of the programme. A three-year strategy has been developed for the programme which sets out a plan to develop and expand its programme of work over the next three years. Click below to view the strategy.
