yourexperience.ie is the home of the National Care Experience Programme, a shared initiative between the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA), the Health Service Executive (HSE), the Mental Health Commission (MHC) and the Department of Health.
A three-year strategy has been developed for the period 2025 to 2027, which sets out a plan to develop and expand its programme of work over the next three years. Click below to view the strategy.

We publish our findings on this website and share them with service providers, policy makers, and the public.
We help service providers to make sense of survey findings and identify priorities within their services. We collect evidence on hospital initiatives and showcase these on this website.
Care experience surveys are a useful way of identifying areas that need improvement in the delivery of health and social care and provide service providers with detailed information on how to fix these problems. By listening and learning from the experiences of patients we can bring about effective and sustainable changes across the Irish health and social care systems.
This slide deck has been developed by the National Care Experience Programme (NCEP) to provide a teaching resource on national care experience surveys. The slide deck will be useful for those teaching health and social care students and or providing training to health and social care staff. The slide deck includes material on healthcare quality and safety, patient experience, survey development, the surveys carried out by the National Care Experience Programme, and the impact of the programme.
