The National Care Experience Programme Strategic Plan (2019-2021) has been published.

The Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA), the Health Service Executive (HSE) and the Department of Health have established the National Care Experience Programme to develop and implement surveys of Ireland’s health and social care services.

The aim of the programme is to encourage people to share their experiences of care and to use this information to improve the quality and safety of these services. The programme is the parent body for the National Patient Experience Survey and the new National Maternity Survey.

We have developed a new three-year strategy for the National Care Experience Programme, which sets out our plan to expand the programme and survey two additional areas of health or social care. The programme will also include a competency centre to support the development of survey tools and ensure that the survey findings are used to improve services and to inform the Sláintecare Implementation Strategy and annual action plans.
