Following the 2017 and 2018 inpatient surveys, Roscommon University Hospital developed quality improvement plans to address feedback on patient information and hospital meals.
A booklet was created by staff and patients to help improve the information provided to patients. Roscommon Hospital also plans to make patient information leaflets more accessible by translating them into other languages. In order to address patient concerns regarding the range of food on offer, the hospital developed and launched a food and drink strategy 2018-2021. This included a review of food provision, the introduction of protected meal times and the creation of a new menu.
